In our mission toward zero waste, we've created long-lasting products that have minimal to no packaging. You can use the soap deck as an easily visible place to store your package-free shampoo and conditioner bars so they're readily available. It will comfortably fit two of our solid seaweed shampoo or conditioner bars, or one of our body bars.
Western Red Cedar has one of the longest life spans of North American trees and the wood and bark are decay-resistant. Native Americans valued this wood for making boats, totem poles, bark rope, and gave it the name “tree of long life.” Today, cedar is used for house shingles, boat construction, and is great for saunas and spas.
Soap extender: Natural soap shouldn’t be left in water because it reduces the life of your soap. A soap deck will increase the longevity of your products so that your soap doesn't sit a pool of excess shower water.
How to use: Our artisanal soap decks are carved from solid, sustainably harvested Western Red Cedar. The deep grooves quickly drain away water. Use in the kitchen or bath; they will hold any of our soap bars.
Cleaning/Storage: Soap can build up on the soap deck over time, so use a scrub brush to periodically clean out the grooves - we have even had customers run it through the dishwasher on the top rack.
Over time, the soap deck will take on a darker patina from absorbing soap and water, and the natural wood may stain light-colored porous surfaces such as untreated marble. We successfully use this on glass, granite, ceramic and porcelain counter tops and in showers.
