I really like this soap block. I’ve been using this product for many years and with a good dish brush it sudses up enough that I don't need a sink full of water. Not only does it save me from buying dish soap in a plastic bottle but it saves water too!
I've been using this soap for almost a year now and I love it! I was dishes 2-3 times every day with a household of 5. You can imagine the amount that accumulates! I received 2 - 6 oz bars at christmas last year and just finished the second one about September. I ordered the 5 lb box because that's a steal! There are so many large bars in the box that I definitely think it will last my family 3 years. But I plan to give some as stocking stuffers to inspire my family to go plastic free as much as possible! I'm so glad I found this company!
I’m one person who uses it exclusively for dishes and doesn’t cook at home every day by any stretch of the imagination and have gone through the bulk box in ten months, which is relatively exceptional and great on its own, but the “family of five for three years” or whatever is wayyy off. I also use baking soda alongside this to help with the residue, which again is fine because it’s also minimal impact environmentally and financially, but it does really feel like it’s lacking without something to boost its cleaning power and isn’t as effective as is stated.
We have our estimates based on surveys from our users however they are definitely estimates. If you use more per wash it will change those estimates.
For now I have removed the estimates from the product page so it doesn't give any time estimates any longer.
I like the soap. Been using it for years but I ordered two boxes and both weighed UNDER 4 pounds including the cardboard box. Not cool man
Hi Kristen, I am sending you a private email, however we did double check the shipping records and this one shipped at 17 lbs total for the 3 bulk boxes. Including the shipping box weight of a few ounces it looks like you received over 16 lbs of product. (over 5 lbs average per bulk box)
I have been looking for a soap like this for awhile. No toxic ingredients! I am very pleased with this soap!! It really lasts a long time too!
Love this dish soap. Gets the job done
it's so easy to wash a dish/glass and put away.
I’ve been using the dish block for well over a year now. Using a dish brush with it seems to get my dishes cleaner than I ever did using liquid soap and a sponge. Highly recommend!
I really like this solid dish soap. It cuts through grease amazingly well. The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that it gets so soft so quickly. It doesn't matter if I keep it above any water that might collect in the soap dish. It just gets soft and starts falling apart.
I found a solution, but it might not be for everyone. I put the DISH BLOCK in a woven cotton soap bag. I can either use that bag as my scrubber or a sponge. The DISH BLOCK still gets soft, but it is contained in the bag. This process is worth it to me because the DISH BLOCK works so well and I am really trying hard to reduce the amount of plastic that comes through my house. I actually prefer to use a separate sponge, because then I can rub the sponge on the soap bag to get the sponge soapy, and then get to cleaning. You don't need much soap, because a little goes a long way with the DISH BLOCK. (Two photos attached: open end of the soap bag - showing the soap inside - and the whole soap bag, which is just larger than the block.)
I have not had the experience that others have complained about with "greasy" residue. Perhaps that Is because I use a minimal amount of soap to get a sponge soapy. I also think that very hot water helps. In any event, anything that I hand-wash is spotless when I'm done.
It worked great, and the kids liked being able to swipe the scrub brush across the top.
